What an amazing end to the season!
20205 End of season fun day
We just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who came along to our end-of-season celebration at Yarnbury yesterday. What a day! From the first kick of a ball to the final leap over the line in the sack race, the place was full of energy, laughter, and a proper community spirit.
The pitches were buzzing all afternoon, with kids doing what they love- playing football, making memories, and enjoying every minute. It was brilliant to see so many parents getting involved too (and apparently scoring a few screamers… or so we’ve been told).
A big shoutout as well to all the parents who helped put the fun day together. From game management and setup, to the BBQ kings and queens, servers, and those who stayed behind to tidy up - you made the day what it was. Thank you.
Most of all, we just want to say how proud we are of everyone involved in the club. This season has been a huge success, and that’s down to every player, every parent, and everyone who plays a part in making Horsforth JFC what it is. Our ‘never refuse a child’ policy remains as important as ever, and the club has become a core part of life for so many local families.
And none of it would be possible without our amazing volunteers. There are too many to name, but you all know who you are. The people who pour their heart and soul into this club, week after week—you don’t just keep things running, you give the club its heart.
If you caught James and TC giving their update yesterday, you’ll have heard an overview of the running of the club, the successes this season, and the club finances. Every single penny of club fees is invested directly into the club - into facilities, match-day pitches, paid professional coaches, and equipment. The only staff cost we have is for professional coaches, who are paid hourly for their Saturday morning and Tuesday evening sessions.
So hats off to the volunteers - the managers, parent coaches, referees, match-day helpers, team admins, and everyone else who gives their time. We now have just shy of 700 players at Horsforth JFC, and we truly couldn’t do any of it without you.
Thank you for everything. Have a great summer - we’ll see you next season. 🟠⚫️🟠
